This Privacy Policy describes how Haunt (“we”, “our”, or “the app”) collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our iOS application.
1. Information We Collect
1.1 Information You Provide
Instagram usernames you choose to track within the app. These are stored locally on your device and synced with our servers solely to deliver push notifications about follower/following activity.

1.3 Instagram Data
Haunt accesses publicly available Instagram profile data (follower counts, following lists, profile pictures) via a third-party API. We do not collect your Instagram credentials, passwords, or private messages. We only access data that is publicly visible on Instagram.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use collected information to:
- Deliver real-time push notifications about follower/following activity on tracked profiles
- Maintain and sync your list of tracked profiles across sessions
- Process and manage your subscription via Adapty
- Analyze app performance and improve user experience
- Diagnose crashes and fix bugs via Firebase Crashlytics
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policies:

4. Data Storage and Security
- Local storage: Your tracked profile list and activity history are stored locally on your device using iOS UserDefaults. This data does not leave your device except as described in Section 2.
- Cloud storage: Your device ID, FCM token, subscription status, and tracked usernames are stored in Google Firebase Firestore to enable push notifications.
- Retention: We retain your data for as long as you use the app. You may delete all stored data by uninstalling the app or contacting us at the address below.
- Security: We use industry-standard measures to protect your data. However, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties except:
- With service providers listed in Section 3 who assist us in operating the app
- When required by law, court order, or governmental authority
- To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users
6. Push Notifications
We send push notifications to inform you of follower/following activity on profiles you track. You may disable push notifications at any time in your device’s Settings → Notifications → Haunt. Disabling notifications does not affect your ability to use the app.
7. Children’s Privacy
Haunt is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Delete your personal data
- Object to or restrict our processing of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time

9. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, to request deletion of your personal information, and to opt out of the sale of your personal information. 10. International Users (GDPR)
If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for processing your data is:
- Legitimate interest – to provide the core functionality of the app
- Contractual necessity – to fulfill your subscription
- Consent – for push notifications (which you can withdraw at any time)
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
