iCar is built privacy-first. We don’t ask who you are, we don’t store personal information about you, and everything you create in the app stays on your iPhone. This policy explains exactly what that means. iCar is developed by Mobapp Tech (“we”, “us”, “our”).
At a glance
- No account, no personal information. iCar never asks for your name, email address or phone number, and we don’t store personal information about you.
- Your things stay on your iPhone. Widgets, themes, photos, videos, playlists and settings never leave your device.
- No tracking, no ads, no selling. We don’t track you across apps or websites, show ads or sell data. We never collect your precise location or driving data, and we never collect the advertising identifier (IDFA).
- Subscriptions go through Apple. Your payment details stay with Apple; we only see whether your iCar PRO subscription is active.
- AI features only send what you choose. We ask for your permission first, then only the photo or text you pick is sent to create the result — and we don’t keep it.
1. What stays on your device
The following is stored only on your iPhone and is never uploaded to us:
- Your widgets, themes, settings, favourites and saved designs, including any photos and videos you add to them
- Your language, appearance and consent choices
- Sounds you create or choose for your car
- IPTV playlists and channel favourites you import — playlist addresses can contain your provider’s login details, so we never upload or log them
- Videos you open from Photos or Files. iCar only accesses the items you select; it never asks for access to your whole photo library.
- Screen broadcast frames, which are kept on your device only for the in-app preview and deleted when the broadcast ends. Nothing is recorded, frames are never sent over the internet and the microphone is not used.
Deleting the app removes all of it.
2. What leaves your device — and only when needed
2.1 An anonymous app ID
When iCar starts, it creates a random, anonymous ID with Firebase Authentication. It isn’t linked to your name, email, Apple ID or phone number. We use it for two things: counting how many AI images and voice clips have been created today, so the daily limits stay fair for everyone, and recognising your iCar PRO subscription. Only the date and that day’s count are stored with it.
2.2 AI widgets (optional)
If you create an AI widget, the photo you select, a picture of the car you picked and a short style instruction are sent through our server functions (Google Cloud, Europe) to fal.ai, which runs an image model made by OpenAI. The finished image is returned through a temporary link and saved on your iPhone. We ask for your explicit consent before your first photo is sent. We don’t store your photo; fal.ai and OpenAI may keep it for the period stated in their own privacy policies, to provide the service and prevent abuse. Please only use photos you have the right to use, and don’t upload photos of other people without their permission.
2.3 AI voice (optional)
If you create a voice clip, the text you type and the voice you choose are sent through our server functions to ElevenLabs to generate the audio, which is returned to your iPhone. We ask for your explicit consent before your first text is sent. We don’t store your text; ElevenLabs may keep it for a limited time under its own privacy policy. Please avoid typing sensitive personal information.
2.4 Car pictures
When you pick a car, we fetch matching images from CarImagesAPI through our server functions. Only the make, model and generation are sent — nothing about you. The images are kept in a shared catalogue so they load faster for everyone.
2.5 Streams you add
iCar doesn’t provide any channels or video content. Playlists and streams you add are loaded directly from the providers you choose, who can see your IP address and are responsible for their own content and privacy practices.
2.6 iCar PRO subscription
iCar PRO is bought through the App Store, so your payment details stay with Apple and never reach us. We use RevenueCat to manage subscriptions: your anonymous app ID and the purchase history the App Store reports (product, dates, renewal and cancellation status) are shared with RevenueCat so we can recognise, restore and unlock your subscription. You can manage or cancel it any time in your Apple ID settings.
2.7 Usage statistics
To improve iCar we use Google Analytics for Firebase. It collects which screens and features are used (for example sound previews, adding widgets or the subscription screen), a random per-install app ID, device model, iOS version, app version and an approximate country or city derived from your IP address. To understand renewals and cancellations, that random app ID is also shared with RevenueCat. These statistics are not linked to your name, email or Apple ID, the advertising identifier is never collected, and nothing is used for advertising or tracking. Analytics data is kept for at most 14 months.
2.8 App settings and integrity checks
Firebase delivers app settings (Remote Config). Firebase App Check, together with Apple’s App Attest and DeviceCheck, confirms that requests to our server come from a genuine copy of iCar. These checks contain no personal information.
3. What we keep on our servers
No personal information. Only this:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Anonymous app ID with today’s date and AI image and voice counters | Applies the daily limits |
| Shared catalogue of car images | Faster loading — contains nothing about you |
4. CarPlay
iCar shows its content on your car’s display through Apple CarPlay. We don’t collect your location, driving data or any information from your vehicle.
5. Service providers
These providers help us run iCar and only receive what is described above:
| Provider | Purpose | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase | Anonymous ID, app settings, app integrity checks, database and server functions | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google Analytics for Firebase | Usage statistics | policies.google.com/privacy |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | revenuecat.com/privacy |
| Apple | App Store purchases, App Attest and DeviceCheck | apple.com/legal/privacy |
| fal.ai | Runs AI image generation | fal.ai/privacy |
| OpenAI | Provides the image model used through fal.ai | openai.com/policies/privacy-policy |
| ElevenLabs | Text-to-speech | elevenlabs.io/privacy-policy |
| CarImagesAPI | Car pictures (no personal data) | carimagesapi.com |
We don’t sell information or share it for advertising. We would only disclose information when we are legally required to — for example to comply with a court order or a valid request from a public authority — or when it is necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of our users, Mobapp Tech or others.
If Mobapp Tech or iCar is ever involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganisation or sale of assets, the limited information described in this policy may be transferred as part of that transaction. The new owner would have to keep protecting it as this policy describes, and we would let you know through the app or this page.
6. How long information is kept
- On your iPhone: until you delete it or the app.
- Anonymous ID and counters: while you use iCar. Ask us any time and we’ll delete them.
- Photos and text sent to AI features: not stored by us. Our providers process them to return the result and keep them only as their own policies allow.
- Usage statistics: at most 14 months.
- Subscription records: kept by Apple and RevenueCat while needed to manage your subscription and as the law requires.
7. Security
All data travels over encrypted connections. Our service keys are kept on our servers, never inside the app, and only genuine copies of iCar can call our server functions.
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, so we can’t guarantee absolute security. Keeping your iPhone’s software up to date and protecting it with a passcode helps keep the data stored on it safe.
8. Children
iCar is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children.
9. Your choices
You decide what iCar can use:
- Photos and videos: iCar only sees the items you pick in the system picker. It never asks for access to your whole library.
- AI features: nothing is sent until you give your consent. If you never use them, no photo or text leaves your iPhone.
- Subscription: manage or cancel iCar PRO any time in Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone.
- Usage statistics: you can ask us to delete the statistics tied to your app ID.
- Everything on your device: deleting iCar removes all the widgets, sounds, playlists and settings stored on your iPhone.
10. Your rights
Because iCar doesn’t store personal information about you, there is usually nothing to access or correct. You can still ask us to delete the anonymous ID and its counters, object to usage statistics, or ask any question about your privacy, at support@mobapptech.com — we reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live (for example Türkiye under KVKK, the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or California), you have the right to access, delete or object to the processing of your information, and to complain to your local data protection authority.
If you are in the EEA or the UK, we rely on contract (providing the features and subscription you choose, including sending your photo or text to our AI providers when you use AI features) and legitimate interests (security, fair-use limits and usage statistics).
11. International transfers
Our server functions and database run in Google Cloud regions in the European Union (europe-west1, eur3). Our service providers may process information outside your country, including in the United States. Where required, these transfers are protected by safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
12. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we’ll update the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
